If you are interested in working with me, I’ll ask you to tell me a bit about your project, what stage it is in, and what you are looking to get out of working with me. I can help you determine what type of editing would be best for your manuscript if you are not sure.
I provide a complimentary sample edit that allows you to see my work and me to quote you a price for your project. I personally tailor my editorial services to what each manuscript and author needs and wants.
Once we agree that I’m a good fit for your manuscript, we’ll discuss in more detail how we’ll work together.
I charge a flat price per book-length project and an hourly fee for consultations, coaching, and smaller projects.
I’ll provide a contract that specifies the scope of work I will do, the price, and the time frame for the project’s completion. I’ll also provide a confidentiality agreement, so that you know your work is protected.
I work using Track Changes in Microsoft Word, which displays all in-line edits and comments in easy-to-read format. For developmental edits, I provide a separate document with detailed written comments about your manuscript, including recommendations for rewriting and restructuring.
I communicate with clients via e-mail and phone, and I’m always happy to answer any questions you have about the edits I’ve suggested.
I take payment in the form of personal checks or via direct bank transfer using Zelle.
Please send me an e-mail to discuss your project and how I can help: steinberg[dot]deborah[at]gmail[dot]com.
